The 2020 edition of the
Cannes Yachting Festival
has been cancelled.
According to
Superyacht Times , show organisers Reed Expositions have recently announced the decision following a recent surge in the number of Covid-19 cases on the French Riviera.
Earlier this week the French Government announced an extension to the ban of mass gatherings of over 5,000 people. This decision affected confidence across the docks, with many ticket holders announcing they will not be attending as a result.
Cannes Yachting Festival is one of the largest Yachting shows on the Cote d’Azur and attracts 50,000 visitors every September.
The show was scheduled to take place from September the 8th to the 13th, with over 420 vessels booked to attend.
The 2020 Cannes Yachting Festival will be marked down as the first year in over 40 for the event to have been cancelled.
